Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Program

New Jersey's Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Program is administered by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), Office of Clean Energy and is funded by $500,000 in Petroleum Overcharge Reimbursement Fund (PORF) money. These funds are the result of settlements of lawsuits with the major oil companies dating to the energy crises of the mid-1970's. This program is designed to provide cost-share funds to allow local governments to establish alternative fuel dispensing facilities in New Jersey. Funding is available for the purchase and installation of equipment necessary to refuel or recharge alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs). All funding will be issued as a rebate for equipment purchase and installation.
