2008 NJ Clean Energy Leader

![]() |
Renewable Energy International has developed a prototype hydrogen fuel cell energy generation and storage system that utilizes photovoltaic modules. This prototype was used to generate and store photovoltaic electricity for a residence. The system provides for all of the home's energy requirements, offsetting fossil-fuel grid-connected electricity. The only byproducts of the solar-hydrogen system are water and heat. The completion of this project demonstrates that the technology to power our homes and communities with clean, safe, reliable, renewable resources is currently within our reach. On hand to accept the award are Gian-Paolo Gaminiti (left), Michael Strizki (holding trophy) and Tracy Cate (right). With the award winners are Commissioner Elizabeth Randall, NJBPU (left), Commissioner Joseph Fiordaliso, NJBPU (center) and President Jeanne M. Fox, NJBPU (holding certificate).
