The Governor’s Energy Master Plan calls for the creation of over 20,000 jobs in sectors such as solar manufacturing, energy auditing, HVAC installation, and smart grid technology installations.
TRACK B - Charting a Course for Savings: Audits, Benefits and Costs – they’re the ABC’s of a well-built energy reduction plan. Learn about the tools and resources you’ll need whether you’re just getting started or you’re continuing to investigate new energy saving alternatives for your facilities.
TRACK C - Building a Successful Business: Whether you are starting a new company, expanding to offer new products and services, or just committed to growing your existing business, being market-driven and customer focused is the key to success.
BREAKOUT SESSION 2: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
TRACK A - Building Community Partners: New Jersey’s local government officials are tapping into the resources they need to take a whole-community approach to saving energy. Learn about resources for government-owned facilities and for spreading the clean energy message to your residents and business owners.
TRACK B - Examining Proven Solutions: Energy saving solutions are providing attractive investment returns in a wide range of building types. Many business owners and operators have recognized the potential for bottom line impacts and have implemented proven technologies for tapping that potential.
TRACK C - Building a Trained Workforce: Clean energy businesses require skilled workers to succeed. Whether your organization supplies goods and services to residential or commercial and industrial markets, resources for workforce training include state and national programs as well as special curricula offered by vocational schools, community colleges and universities.
GENERAL SESSION: 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Partnering with New Jersey’s Public Utility Companies
Throughout 2009, the Board of Public Utilities has approved innovative financing programs for energy efficiency and solar from New Jersey’s utilities that will reduce energy use, encourage the use of renewable energy resources, and cut the amount of carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming. New Jersey’s utilities can be extremely effective private partners to assist in meeting the State’s energy consumption.
Networking Reception and Awards Dinner
With the purchase of an Awards Dinner ticket, you will also gain access to the pre-awards cocktail reception. This one-of-a-kind networking opportunity complements the conference and contributes to one of the prime objectives of the NJBPU – to encourage forward thinking collaborative initiatives that support the clean energy movement.
DAY TWO
BREAKOUT SESSION: 8:30 am - 10:00 am
TRACK A - Public Policy and Local Government Trends: Transforming New Jersey’s energy future will require a continued focus on breaking down barriers to capturing energy savings. Near-term innovation in energy efficiency and renewable technologies will play a critical role in our efforts to build sustainability.
TRACK B - Innovative Approaches for the Commercial & Industrial Sector: Emerging technologies and incentive structures are poised for rapid development in the immediate future. Learn about some of the latest approaches for reducing your carbon footprint and improving your profitability.
TRACK C - Business Opportunities for the Future: The government and the public’s continued interest in clean energy promises strong growth over the near-term business horizon. Awareness of industry trends can make a big difference as you reposition your company to capitalize on those opportunities.
GENERAL SESSIONS: 10:15 am - 12:15 pm
Legislative Updates
Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Chair of the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee, and a Senate Representative (invited) will provide important updates on legislative activities designed to support the clean energy industry and stimulate the growth of green jobs.
Funding Clean Energy Now!
Business owners, facility managers, residents and government officials are keenly aware of the benefits of energy saving solutions, but the availability of capital and concerns about return on investment continue to be the top barriers to achieving clean energy goals. Federal and state initiatives are in place to provide grants and financing for installation of energy efficiency measures and renewable technologies.
Optional Field Trip to See Clean Energy in Action: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Conference goers have a unique opportunity to tour two of the area’s most noteworthy clean energy projects. The first stop will be the Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm, located at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority Wastewater Treatment Facility. The farm includes five 380 foot tall turbines, capable of generating enough energy to power approximately 2,500 homes. The second stop will be the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Billed as “New Jersey’s Green College” the school is home to one of the largest closed loop geothermal heating and cooling systems in the world. Visitors will also learn about Stockton’s solar technology and the new Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage system. This field trip is complimentary, with buses leaving from the Atlantic City Convention Center.
