New Jersey's Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign
Make a difference to save energy, money and help reduce climate change. The ENERGY STAR Change the World Campaign is a way for all New Jersey residents to commit to being more energy-efficient.

What you should know about CFLs
- Contain a small amount of mercury, so should be disposed of properly, ideally recycled. Please click here for more information.
- Now some retailers across the country such as the Home Depot are disposing of CFLs at their stores. This is a part of Home Depot's CFL recycling program. Click here for more details. IKEA also provides recycling bins at their stores.

In addition to changing out at least five of your incandescent bulbs to ENERGY STAR compact fluorescent bulbs, this year's Change the World pledge also involves the following:
- Making your home's heating and cooling system work better
- Ensuring your home is well sealed and insulated
- Purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified products
When you pledge to take the Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR pledge, you will be helping New Jersey reach New Jersey’s goal to reduce energy use 20% by 2020.
