Wind Alternative Calculation Method

Wind Alternative Calculation Method

The Wind Estimated Performance Based Buydown Alternative Calculation Method has been designed to allow customers to use wind turbines that meet the terms of use but are not presently included in New Jersey’s Clean Energy ProgramTM’s Approved Turbines list.  Customers must complete the Wind Alternative Calculation Method (WACM) when using a turbine that is not approved in order  to receive a Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) rebate.  View the list of Approved Turbines

To complete the WACM, click here.

Instructions
If using the WACM, the Terms of Use tab must be printed, signed by the applicant, and submitted with the Wind Pre-Application to ensure processing.

The 20 Questions tab should be reviewed by the customer prior to considering using the WACM. The questions are not mandatory, but should be used as a guide to assist customers in evaluating a wind turbine that is not included in the Approved Turbine list for their site specific application.

The Instructions tab will guide the customer through the WACM.  Highlighted instructions on this tab correspond to highlighted areas in the calculator by color and indicate where customer’s should input their specific information. The program manager will review the WACM along with the independent third party verified power curve to ensure the information is valid. If the information supplied is not valid or of questionable quality, the full pre-application will be returned to the customer with an explanation of discrepancies. Once the discrepancies are corrected, the customer can resubmit the full pre-application.

The completed WACM and  the signed Terms of Use page must be submitted with the Wind Pre-Application and all supporting documentation per the Pre-Application. Once the customer receives the Wind Estimated Performance Based Buydown (EPBB) Pre-Application acceptance letter, they must submit a Rebate Application Packet as per the Application Checklist in order to be eligible to receive an incentive.
