Rockland Electric Company

On July 24, 2009, the Rockland Electric Company (RECO) SREC-based Financing Program was approved. Under this program, RECO will implement an SREC-based financing program similar to that approved for JCP&L and ACE. The RECO program will be coordinated with the JCP&L and ACE programs, with RECO utilizing National Economic Research Associates, Inc. (NERA) to perform the solicitation management functions.
On January 25, 2010, NJBPU announced the intial results of the second solicitation of the JCP&L/ ACE/ RECO utility solar financing program. The RECO solitication was included in JCP&L's and ACE's second solicitation. ACE awarded ten contaracts to purchase SRECs generated from 2.19 MW of new solar capacity, JCP&L awarded twenty seven contracts to 4.17 MW of capacity, and RECO awarded two contracts to 149 kW of capacity. The average price for SRECs was $405.
