The NJBPU will initiate a fourth Comprehensive Resource Analysis (CRA IV) proceeding to establish funding levels for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs for the 2014-2017 fiscal years. A revised Straw Proposal was issued on March 28, to be followed by this Public Hearing on April 23, with comments to be submitted by April 26.

The Office of Clean Energy has scheduled a stakeholder meeting on February 21, 2013 to discuss the proposal prepared by Boston Pacific on the design of a funding mechanism for ORECs. An additional $900. for New Jersey Natural Gas residential customers on qualifying furnances/boilers. Rebates for commerical heating, cooling, and kitchen equpment, lighting & more.

The Governor’s Office has asked all state agencies to work together to develop an interagency plan in response to the Sandy’s rebuilding effort and to address longer term planning (and actions) to respond to future extreme weather conditions that may impact the State’s infrastructure. CHP is one of the issues the BPU has been directed to address. The CHP/FC work group is being convened to get your input into this process. This will be the first in a series of discussions to gather input as we help to shape the CHP response to Sandy.

Help support Sustainable Jersey’s new Green Infrastructure Task Force by attending a meeting on December 4, 2012, to discuss regulatory and legal framework to support green infrastructure, educational needs and opportunities, and the development of new model ordinances in New Jersey. A contemporary solar home will be on view at 19 Fox Hill Road in Lafayette, which features a 5 KW solar electric system, a solar hot water system, passive solar space heating, earth sheltering and a two story sunspace which results in energy savings of 80 percent compared with a conventional home. A few minutes away at 15 Price Road in August, visitors can see a 10 KW wind turbine and 10 KW ground mounted solar electric system which provide almost all of the electricity needed for the home. Learn about the new regulations governing the registration of projects for the Garden State's landmark Solar Renewable Energy Credit Program (SRP). These regulations should provide market participants with greater transparency with regard to the timing and magnitude of New Jersey's growing pipeline of solar capacity coming online, but also imposes compliance responsibilities on project developers. The annual Arts and Crafts Festival attracts approximately 50,000 people a day for three days browsing and purchasing the wares of the 100-150 craft exhibitors along Narragansett Parkway in Warwick. All while this is going on, there is a professional food court, free family music and entertainment located in Pawtuxet Park. The Innovative Energy and Environmental Technology Workshop Committee is soliciting proposals from innovative biopower technology companies to give a presentation about their company at a conference on May 7, 2012. Companies that are interested in submitting a proposal should have commercial scale or demonstration scale systems that can produce electricity (and heat) from sustainable biomass feedstocks, especially waste-based feedstocks. US based and International companies are welcome to apply. Energy Star Portfolio Manager calculates buildings’ greenhouse gas emissions and can track avoided emissions from any Renewable Energy Certificates. When municipalities or schools document reductions in energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and energy costs, they can identify under-performing buildings to target for energy efficiency improvements and establish baselines for setting and measuring progress.
