NJCEP Pay for Performance (P4P) for existing buildings and NJCEP Direct Install will no longer accept applications starting July 1, 2021. All eligible applications accepted before that time will continue with NJCEP until final payment.

PSE&G customers who purchased electric or natural gas energy efficiency equipment prior to June 1, 2021 may be eligible for SmartStart Buildings (SSB) and/or Customer Tailored Energy Efficiency Program (CTEEP) rebates. For non-PSE&G customers, equipment purchased prior to July 1, 2021, may be eligible for SSB and CTEEP rebates.

NJCEP’s SmartStart Buildings (SSB), Customer Tailored Energy Efficiency Program (CTEEP), and Pay for Performance (P4P) programs will remain available for new construction projects and major gut renovation projects only beginning on July 1, 2021.

Let us pay up to 80% of your energy efficiency upgrade.

Sometimes, the biggest challenge to improving your business' energy-efficiency is getting started. Created specifically for existing small to mid-sized facilities, Direct Install is a turnkey project solution that makes it easy and affordable to upgrade to high-efficiency equipment. We will provide you with a FREE energy assessment and a participating contractor will work with you to cut your facility’s energy costs by replacing lighting, HVAC and other outdated operational equipment with energy efficient alternatives.

To dramatically improve your payback on the project, the program pays up to 80% of retrofit costs to facilities within an Urban Enterprise Zone, Opportunity Zone, owned or operated by a local government, K-12 public school, or designated as affordable housing. Other types of facilities receive an incentive up to 70% of retrofit costs.

In 2020 the Direct Install program surpassed $225 million in incentives provided since its inception.

Existing small to mid-sized commercial and industrial facilities with an average peak electric demand  that did not exceed 200 kW in any of the preceding 12 months are eligible to participate in Direct Install. Applicants will submit the last 12 months of electric utility bills indicating that they are below the demand threshold and have occupied the building during that time. Buildings must be located in New Jersey and served by one of the state’s public, regulated electric or natural gas utility companies.

Turnkey Process - A network of selected participating contractors address your project from start to finish, beginning with an assessment of your facility, and ending with the installation of eligible energy-efficient equipment.

Minimal Cost - Your share of the project’s cost could be as low as 20%, in which case the program pays the remaining amount. With incentives so dramatic, your upgrade project can very quickly pay for itself.

Fast Turnaround Time - Project installations are typically completed within 90 days from the time of scheduling your energy assessment.

Ongoing Savings - Your new energy-efficient equipment will provide savings for years to come through dramatically reduced energy costs on your monthly utility bills.
