2008 Programs
The 2008 renewable energy programs, including the CORE Program and the SREC-Only Pilot Program, ended as of December 31, 2008. Information about these programs will remain on this web site for reference, but applications are no longer being accepted.
The 2009 renewable energy programs include the Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) and the SREC Registration Program.
The Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) provides rebates that reduce the upfront cost of installing renewable energy systems like solar, wind, and sustainable biomass projects. Rebate levels vary depending upon technology, system size, and building type. Current rebate levels, participation information, and application forms can be found here.
*Non-residential solar projects larger than 50 kW are not eligible for this program and must enroll in the SREC Registration Program.
The Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) Registration Program is the process used to register SRECs generated by non-rebated systems on the SREC tracking system. Each time a system generates 1,000 kWh of electricity, an SREC is earned and placed in the customer's electronic account. SRECs can then be sold on the SREC tracking system, providing revenue for the first 15 years of the system's life.
Owners of non-rebated solar projects MUST enroll in the SREC Registration Program before they are eligible to register with the SREC tracking system. To learn more about SRECs and how they are generated visit the SREC Registration Program page.
*Projects being developed through the REIP do not need to enroll in this program, but will still be eligible to register with the SREC tracking system upon system completion.
